    I agree with Kylie with the larger stones on top. My second choice would be railroad ties for longevity. It would probably be about impossible to drive rebar through ties and into the wall but more then likely it wouldnt be needed. The ties are pretty heavy. My live trap is also being held hostage by a band of robins hanging in the shack. Thanks for sharing and we'll see you down the road....

    Dang buddy $500 & change and you didnt like them. That stinks and hate when stuff like that happens. If you were close, i would have given you this chainlink fence i have that i have been hanging onto and can't bring myself to get rid of. Im sure we could have fabed up something to work. It will all work out in the end. Always enjoy your videos. Glad we don't have them black flies here!

    • @Modernhillbilly
      @Modernhillbilly 3 місяці тому

      Yeah I was a little let down. Probably my own fault for not doing enough research. I’ve heard of guys using chain link fence. Despite my disappointment the cages were made of good quality galvanized wire and then plastic coated. So should last longer than me. Thankfully the black flies only last about two weeks before they die off. Then the mosquitoes take over Thanks for watching!

      Yeah I’d never attempt it without one. Serves two purposes. First. Stops the whole thing from being blown back through your hand and through your head. Second. Even with the fairly tight “bushing” through the blasting mats. There is still a surprising amount of debris that blows up around the rod.

      It’s not recommend to reuse single use water bottles due to chemical leaching and bacteria growth. Just wasn’t worth the risk for us. They were only ever a temporary measure for us. A holdover until we found something we liked that could hold more volume.
